Hotel De Werelt Garderen

The outdoor pool was the best part for me, heated just right for a morning swim. I also liked the cozy bar and had very good food at the hotel restaurant, though you need to book ahead. Breakfast had a really satisfying range of choices. We stayed in the suite with the bubble bath, a lovely room that could use a few small tweaks. The people were very friendly, and the location was exquisite.

Dinner at the restaurant was really nice, and the staff there were so helpful and friendly that it made us happy. The pool was good too, and the water wasn’t cold at all. The instructions were only in Dutch, so we had fun trying to work out what they said. After hours in the car, it was a welcome stop on our way to France. The hotel turned out to be a lovely experience, with beautiful nature around it, and it’s close to the highway. Parking was easy in the large lot. The receptionist greeted us with a smile and a good sense of humor. Our family room was small but fine for us, with a nice bathroom. The food was super!

For what it costs, I expected more from a four-star hotel. The setting is beautiful, but the room didn’t feel clean, especially with the curtains looking the way they did in the picture. The bed was very hard. The bathroom was the worst part: it looked extremely dated, and the water pressure was so low it was just sad. I usually love a hotel shower because I come out feeling relaxed, but this one was terrible. The price is way too high for this level of comfort.

We liked the family room, which was spacious, and the breakfast was good. Reception was by far the friendliest service we had in the Netherlands, and they gave us lots of travel tips. Ilonka was truly excellent. We even stayed another night because it was worth it.
