Waterpark Giethoorn 2

The staff were welcoming and helpful, and the chalet had everything we needed to cook. We only had to bring groceries, though BBQs aren’t allowed on the grounds. It was clean and cozy, with a surprisingly roomy living room, and just a 2-minute walk from the parking lot. Parking there costs €6 per exit; there’s also a free lot about 5 minutes away. We had a really nice stay at the waterpark in Giethoorn and would recommend it.

It was easy to get around from here, with a grocery shop, ice cream shop, and handmade craft shops just a short walk away. The hotel’s boat service was well organized and a lot of fun, too. My room was very clean, and the lovely view added to the relaxing feel. The receptionist was so welcoming, always smiling and sharing useful information for exploring the area. I had a wonderful stay.

Check-in at 3:30 PM felt late, and having to leave by 10:30 AM felt early, which cut down on the flexibility of my stay. Still, the quiet atmosphere and location near the center of the Giethoorn made it easy to visit the attractions. I’d consider staying here for those reasons.

The receptionist was kind and suggested a nice restaurant before we left, and we appreciated the hospitality :) Still, the stay wasn’t as pleasant as we’d hoped. One of the three rooms hadn’t been cleaned, so the four of us shared the other two and left that room empty. It was quite dirty, with lots of hair on the bedding, but we were fine with the arrangement as long as we had clean beds. My friend and I both got bed bug bites. We think they may have come from the duvet, since neither of us had bites on our backs, only the front. When we left, we were told to remove the bedsheet, but not the duvet covers. All in all, it was an alright stay.
