Vakantiepark de Oude Molen

In 30 years of camping, this is the first site I’ve found with three bathrooms and a sauna included. The pitch was very good, with privacy and all the services, and the sanitary block was first class, always clean with hot water running constantly.

The chalet had an unpleasant smell, the toilet was leaking, and the kettle didn’t work. On top of that, when we arrived late, we found bugs living in and around the sofa, which made us feel very uncomfortable. The reception was closed for a week, and although there was an emergency number, we couldn’t call it. We emailed about the problems during our stay, but they only replied after we’d left. They refused compensation and wouldn’t acknowledge any fault. They even had the cheek to say we hadn’t taken the garbage out. Extremely disappointing, and we won’t be coming back. I’d strongly recommend against staying here.

We stayed at the campsite. The toilets and showers were a little outdated, but they were okay. We wanted to visit the Freedom museum that afternoon, and checking out in the evening was no problem. We just dropped the keycard in the mailbox.

The housing is cheap and tolerable. Internet keeps switching stations, which isn’t too bad in general, but it makes playing bdo unplayable for me. The connection is good in the restaurant, yet management says you can’t sit at the table for as long as you want. So for foreigners, it’s a bad restaurant, especially since that’s the only place with good internet. I have mixed feelings about the place.
