Bud Gett Hostels

I’ve stayed at the hostel several times and usually find it fine, but this stay was awful because of a group of young people nearby who had no respect for the other guests. At 2.30am they started shouting, laughing, banging on doors and moving beds, and carried on until dawn. I lost more than half my sleep. The receptionist was kind and apologized, and I don’t blame her. This is something management needs to handle. I’d suggest signs at reception and in the corridors explaining that rooms aren’t soundproof, and asking groups to keep the noise down after 11pm.

The location was decent, and the reception staff were nice. But I got scabies after staying here. The money and suffering I’m now dealing with could have gone toward a much better hotel, and I’d have saved money and protected my mental health.

The staff were friendly and quickly brought us a replacement ladder when one was missing from a bunk bed. I also liked the downstairs common area, which connects to a bar if you feel like going there. For a short stay, this is an easy recommendation. The room held six people and was a reasonable size for what we paid; they supplied clean sheets and duvet covers so we didn’t all have to share the same bedding. Getting around was easy too, since everything in town was close by.

For a budget stay, the location and reception service are real advantages, since the hostel is inside the Martini Hotel. The room was small, and the bathroom especially compact, though that’s what I’d expect at this price. I’d recommend it to anyone traveling on a budget, or suggest booking the Martini Hotel instead.
