Amrâth Grand Hotel Frans Hals

We were delighted with our room and the cleanliness was top class. The location is brilliant, and the service was terrific, gold star. Everyone was pleasant, efficient, and keen to help with any questions. We stayed for seven nights and had a really lovely experience. Brendan & Eithne Tolan

I was very disappointed by the reception and how guests are treated at Amrath Hotel. I asked them to call a taxi and was told they’d ring my room once it arrived because it was busy. After 20 minutes with no call, I went down to check. Another staff member said the taxi had already left and spoke rudely and disrespectfully, even asking whether I was “not able to read the clock.” That lack of courtesy and professionalism is unacceptable for a hotel that says it values its guests. Clear communication and respectful behavior should be the minimum, but my experience at reception was the opposite.

We really enjoyed our stay and would definitely come back. The staff were friendly and helpful, and we liked our comfortable room with its lovely street view. Breakfast was excellent, though with so many good cafes and restaurants nearby, we only ate there a couple of times. The hotel suited us very well: lots of interesting places were an easy walk away, and the railway station was convenient, with Amsterdam just a ten-minute ride away.

I’m very grateful for how Team Frans Hal looked after me during my stay in November. I had an allergic reaction to something that’s still unknown, and they did what they could to help. On 9/11/2025, one of the lovely night shift staff rang the after-hours nurse for me, and I had a Telehealth consultation. The nurse said she’d send the prescription to a hospital for me to collect. I was so upset and unwell that I forgot to ask her name or which hospital it was. Teeuw was amazing and tracked down both the nurse’s name and the hospital. He also arranged a taxi there, waited while I picked up the prescription, and brought me back to the hotel. When I returned to my room, there was a box of chocolate and a card from the team. That was so sweet and really made me feel better. Thank you to Siobhan, head of housekeeping, Amber, Teeuw, and the lovely night shift staff for supporting me and making sure I was OK. Thank you, and keep up the great work, guys.
