The hotel and rooms are comfortable, but the location is only so-so if you’re travelling with kids and don’t have a car. It takes a bit of walking to reach public transport. Without kids, or if you have a car, that’s less of a problem. I was surprised by the late checkout issue. The booking information on the official https://all.accor.com/ website said checkout was allowed until 05:00 pm, but the hotel insisted we had to leave by 3 pm and said the website information wasn’t valid. We had planned our travel and other bookings around that later time, so we were left stranded for 2 hours. The receptionist could have been kinder, though I understand they might have had a bad day. Breakfast was just okay, with limited choices, though that’s about what I’d expect from a budget hotel. Tea and coffee facilities in the room would have been useful.

The staff and rooms were nice, but breakfast needed work. Several things had run out, including boiled eggs, and items weren’t refilled properly. The scrambled eggs were dry, and there was no bacon. For what it was, it felt a bit too expensive.

We loved our stay. The service was very friendly and accommodating, the rooms were clean and beautiful, and breakfast was very good. Haarlem is a little way off, but it’s a lovely walk to the square if you enjoy walking, or you can catch the number 2 bus just down the street. Highly recommended!

We chose Haarlem as a base for our Amsterdam trip, and I think that was the right call. It’s a pleasant 20-30 minute walk to the city centre and train station. The rooms were excellent, breakfast was great, and the staff were really friendly. Without a car, the location felt a little out of the way. We had good weather, though, and walking to the station in the mornings was a nice way to wake up and get some exercise. I’d stay here again.
