The staff were welcoming and friendly throughout my stay, and although the rooms aren’t very big, the bed was extremely comfortable, which mattered most to me. I liked the distinctive atmosphere of Metsler House, connected to the old prison building. Had a good experience overall and would stay again.

The rooms were extremely clean, and the hotel is close to downtown Haarlem. I found check-in efficient after doing it online, and the staff were very friendly and fluent in English. Parking near the hotel was paid. During my stay in October of 2025, they were expanding the hotel, so more rooms were on the way.

The rooms run a little small, but the hotel was very clean and the staff were amazing. We’d definitely recommend it.

The walk from the train station was easy, and breakfast at the cafe was a real highlight. The service there was outstanding, with everyone making us feel welcome. Our room was on the small side, but clean and very comfortable, and the staff were lovely throughout. We had a great stay at Metzlr House and would gladly return on our next trip to Haarlem.

The area was so quiet, and getting checked in was straightforward. Lara also shared the history of the prison and the building that now houses the hotel. Our room was small, and room 3 doesn't have a TV, but neither bothered us. There was a kettle with a good choice of tea and coffee, plus lovely shower products. The bed felt luxurious and comfortable. It's a little outside the centre, though an easy walk from Haarlem centraal.
