Best Western Hotel Baars

The price was really reasonable, and we liked the nicer part of town, with shops and places to eat easy to reach. The receptionists were very kind, and we'd probably stay here again. We were here for Defqon 1, and the shuttle pick-up was extremely convenient. Our four-star rating is because the room had no AC. They gave us a fan, but it just moved the hot air around. The shower had no curtain either, so water spilled onto the floor and made it difficult to use the rest of the bathroom.

The Best Western Bars Hotel in Harderwijk was conveniently located, and check-in went smoothly. Staff were polite and responsive, and the room was reasonably well maintained. Still, the in-room kettle wasn't clean, which was disappointing for a hotel of this standard. The Wi-Fi was also weak and unreliable, making work and staying connected difficult. Some parts of the stay were comfortable, but those basic problems need attention. I hope management improves things for future guests.

The location was the one good part of my stay. I paid €200 for one night and got a smelly wooden room with a very outdated bathroom. There was also a tourist group filling the hotel, so I couldn't feel comfortable. I paid separately for breakfast and had to choose a dining time. I picked an early slot, but the restaurant was completely full with no seats. The receptionist told me to take my breakfast to the brasserie across the building instead. If I'd known that would happen, I wouldn't have booked here, and I certainly wouldn't have paid €16 for breakfast I had to eat elsewhere. The breakfast area was extremely crowded, and I had to queue for everything. I don't recommend this hotel at all.

We had a very pleasant stay. The hotel is a short walk from Harderwijk beach and all the places we wanted to reach. Our room was spacious, though there was no air conditioning; a fan was provided. The bathroom had both a shower and a bathtub. Service and hospitality were good, and breakfast offered a nice variety. Dinner at the restaurant was delicious, especially the Chicken Satay!
