Hush bed& breakfast

The rooms were dirty and had mold throughout, and it was cold everywhere. The owner hadn't even turned on the heat before we arrived. The kitchen was broken, the shower was barely big enough to fit in, and there was no sink. We left after the first night because the child was having breathing problems from the mold and cold. The owner refused to refund us, so we'll pursue this officially. In a word, a nightmare. This isn't an apartment, it's a garage with beds in it.

The room was freezing when we arrived on the evening of December 24. All three radiators were switched on, but none worked. I contacted the owner straight away, and the woman who cleans the rooms arrived within ten minutes. They offered a small portable heater, which I didn't think would do much, so I asked to cancel and find somewhere with working heat and proper comfort. After ten hours of travel, arriving to a freezing room with broken heating for a three-day stay was unacceptable to me. They should have checked during the day that everything, especially the heating, was working. The bathroom was tiny too. The shower barely had room for one person, and it looked like a portable toilet converted into a miniature bathroom. They didn't show any bathroom photos on their website, which is no surprise. I'd booked back in November to be near family over Christmas. The owner or manager first asked for a €35 reservation deposit, then changed it to €100, which I transferred a few days before the trip. They refused to return it, even though I feel they were at fault here. I wouldn't recommend staying based on this experience. I also planned to have my partner stay with me for one night of my three-night booking. They wanted an extra €55 for that. I think that's poor service too. For an extra person in a double room, hotels might charge another tourist tax, but not almost the cost of a full extra night.

Breakfast was brought right to my room, and the hosts were very accommodating about what I wanted to eat. They made each one a little special, such a thoughtful touch. My room was lovely, with a comfy bed, a sitting area and a view of the garden, swimming pool, chicken coop and sauna. I'd definitely stay again.

It's nice being able to step straight from the bedroom into the pool, but the rooms felt scrappy, cramped and unkempt. For what you get, it's expensive and a bit disappointing. More like an Airbnb than a hotel.
