The location alone makes this place special. After more than five hours on the road, we arrived late in the day and were greeted warmly by the staff. We had a great time sitting outside with the heaters on, and the food was delicious. I especially liked seeing everything from Asian fusion to traditional Western dishes. I’d highly recommend stopping in if you’re visiting.

I was curious to see how things would be under the new ownership this year, but so far it’s been underwhelming. There’s a good range on the menu, though my duck breast came out rubbery and overcooked. Gluten-free bread would also be a nice option for guests. Disappointing.

The bathroom had some mold, which I didn’t like. On the plus side, the hotel is right at the city square and the view is amazing. The staff were friendly and helpful, and the TV had a casting option.

The portions felt a bit small compared with what I’m used to. The waiter was lovely and attentive, and the service itself was great, but the main course took around 30-40 minutes to arrive. Dessert took even longer, about 45 minutes.

It was an interesting experience sleeping in this 400-year-old building in the center, beside the beautiful Vismarkt square with its lovely restaurant terrace. Breakfast was included and had a nice touch, you could cook your own egg. The pillow was a little soft, and from our room we could only see the neighboring roof, which was a boring view. It was a shame I couldn’t enjoy breakfast on the lovely terrace because the staff didn’t want to clean the table.
