Fletcher Hotel-Restaurant Zeeduin

A great location, good service, and large, well-equipped rooms with a super comfortable bed. I’d come back anytime. It would be nice if the room also had a hairdryer, mirror, and clock.

The town is small and cosy, with a peaceful atmosphere and lovely walking paths through the dunes. The beach is only a few minutes away, about 200 steps, and private parking right beside the hotel made things very convenient. Our triple room was spacious, modern, and spotless, with amazing bed linen. Housekeeping kept it fresh and in perfect shape every day. The staff were kind, welcoming, and extremely helpful. We had the language barrier on our side, but they were patient and understanding, and spoke English and German. They made us feel like valued guests. We’ll definitely come back!

The breakfast was good, and the location near the beach was convenient. But the hotel is showing its age, and the rooms are very loud. You can hear every door closing. We booked a family room and checked in with our two children, aged 2 and 3. The person at the desk said the room was for two adults only and that we’d have to pay an extra 70€ per day for the kids, with an extra bed to be brought in and prepared. Since we were travelling with the children, changing hotels wasn’t an option, so I agreed. I expected an extra bed, but they just turned the sofa into one. Paying that much for that was unbelievable. We booked for around 500€ for three nights and ended up paying over 700€ because of the two kids. This felt very unfriendly to families. I’ll never stay at a Fletcher Hotel again, and I’ll also ask hotels.com for some money back. In other places, kids stay for free.

The sea view and the setting near the beach and little village were lovely, and the older building was clearly well looked after. Our room was roomy enough and reasonably clean. Staff at reception were polite and spoke German and English, and the daily coffee machine, kettle, tea and paper cups were useful. Room service was good too. We booked for four adults in early April without breakfast, expecting two proper beds. Instead, the second was an uncomfortable, wobbly sofa bed, despite the extra 30 euros charged for a room with two real beds. The blankets kept turning over in a strange way, and there was no fridge, toothpaste or balcony. Two nights worked for visiting the area, but the hotel is about 40 minutes from Amsterdam, so it may not suit anyone wanting to be nearer the city.
