We went for a walk in the forest the next morning and really enjoyed it. I'd been worried about staying here after reading so many disappointed reviews, but our night was lovely. The staff were welcoming even though we arrived late, and the room looked fully renovated and modern. The mattress was a bit too soft for my taste. We didn't have breakfast or use the other facilities.

The location is the one bright spot, and it feels like they're taking advantage of it. The rooms were good, but the food and service were awful, and everything else was disappointing. There are better hotels nearby, so I'd skip this one.

The night staff and the woman on the morning shift were friendly, but the afternoon receptionist wouldn't help me change rooms and said the hotel was full. She also claimed I had never mentioned needing AC, even though the booking photos showed air conditioning. I had booked based on the advertised rooms, outdoor pool, and bowling, but when I arrived at night there was no AC in my room, no outdoor pool, and no bowling. None of those key facilities were actually there. The experience was misleading, and management seemed not to care. The refusal to help ruined my stay. I won't come back. Check every facility in writing before booking, because what appears online may not be available.

Veluwe is amazing, but I wouldn't stay at this hotel again. The only people I can praise are the friendly housekeeping staff, who brought fresh towels, and a few restaurant workers, mostly on the morning shift. We called before our trip to check that we could rent bikes, but when we arrived the shop was closed and there was no rental service, even though it was still advertised outside the hotel. Service was very disappointing too. Orders for drinks or food took a long time, and the restaurant assistant manager was disrespectful and showed little empathy. They need serious coaching in dealing with guests. We heard a constant boiler-like sound right next to our room and called reception three times, but nobody did anything. A disaster, not recommended.
