B&B De Lotus

The one thing that worked for us was the location, about a 1.5-kilometer walk from San Siro stadium. Apart from that, it was a major disappointment. The place is one large apartment shared with four other rooms, with a living room, kitchen, and a shower and toilet together. The shower only had cold water. Breakfast was just cornflakes, a piece of cake, and the last bit of milk in the fridge, left out for guests to serve themselves. Reception was very poor too: we eventually found a phone number on the door upstairs, and the instructions we got were in very broken English. We ended up eating breakfast in central Milan. The landlord seems to be exploiting the apartment. I'd look elsewhere.

The covered terrace was a lovely spot to sit outdoors, even when the weather wasn't good. There was plenty of greenery around the cozy, peaceful cottage, which is tastefully furnished. You can light a fire, wrap up in the fleece blankets they provide, and relax with a drink. The hosts were very friendly and hospitable. A great choice for a weekend away.

We had some lovely bike rides around the area, then enjoyed a meal on the spacious terrace overlooking the garden and pond, with a fire crackling nearby. Part of the terrace is covered. The Lotus is a separate house from Jos and Ilona's home, so there's plenty of privacy, but they were always happy to answer questions, explain things, or make adjustments. Their welcome felt like visiting close friends, with the whole house to ourselves. The bed and blanket were comfortable, the shower was good, and the kitchen had everything we needed. We stayed in September and really appreciated the place.

We felt right at home in this clean, cozy holiday apartment. It had everything we needed, and we especially liked having both a nice open terrace and a covered one. The contact was very friendly. We'd happily come back.
