Maxhotel Amsterdam Airport Schiphol

The gym has enough for a couple of solid full-body workouts: dumbbells, a flat bench, medicine balls, and a cable machine. Cardio is well covered too, with four treadmills, two ellipticals, and an indoor bike. Everything is Technogym and worked perfectly. There's also a hot tub for after exercise, but don't expect to swim laps. The Bonvoy app description might suggest that, but there's no pool for swimming. A proper lap pool would improve an otherwise very good fitness setup. The rest of my Hilton Amsterdam Airport stay was top notch. Friendly staff, a great room, and an impressive breakfast selection.

Once inside, this feels a cut above the usual airport hotel. The interiors are impressive, with clean modern lines and lots of open space. My Executive Room on the 11th floor was quiet, spacious, and had everything I expected. Check-in went smoothly enough, though the staff member seemed to have trouble with my name, even though it's been the same through ten years as a Hilton Gold member. It wasn't a major issue, just an awkward one. Breakfast was the weak spot. For a hotel this size, the selection seemed oddly small. There were only chicken sausages, no beef or pork, and the scrambled eggs were much too salty. It did the job, but wasn't worth getting up early for. The hotel is at the far end of Schiphol's covered tunnel, so it's a longer walk than the other on-site hotels, especially after a tiring travel day. Still, it's a very good property. A few improvements to service and breakfast could make it excellent.

I've stayed here several times and always leave feeling great. The place is spotless, the lobby has a really relaxing feel, and the restaurant is good too. Staff are very friendly and helpful, with a high level of service. Happy to come back.

A cancelled flight at Schiphol left us needing a hotel, and we had a great stay at the Hilton. The rooms, food, and staff were all great, and the breakfast buffet was very good. Our Hilton status included breakfast. The airport is about a 10-minute walk away, with moving walkways along much of the route. Prices vary a lot. A couple hundred euros per night felt fantastic for the experience, but I wouldn't be sure about recommending it at 400-500 euros, which was the rate for the extra night we might have needed. The hotel also feels isolated, so I wouldn't choose it as a base for sightseeing in Amsterdam. You can take a train or cab into town, but there are more convenient places to stay. The airport has plenty of food, coffee, grocery, and shopping options, though most food is fast food and not especially good. Also, the taxis the hotel calls cost about three times as much as an Uber.
