NH Amsterdam Schiphol Airport

We only had one night here, unfortunately, but had a lovely time. Enrique and Liam at reception were wonderful, and very good at folding towel swans 🦢. We also really liked the bar, and the morning shuttle bus was great. The staff are amazing, and I’d definitely recommend the hotel.

A nice hotel with great staff and a good breakfast. Enrique was especially polite, helpful, cheerful and quick to assist. I’d recommend staying here. One thing to check: make sure the pre-authorization goes through on a credit card, or it could cause trouble.

Getting to the city takes about an hour by bus and train, though the hotel is conveniently located for the airport. The pool area is good, but the spa is cold and the floor is dangerously slippery. I saw people get hurt there. It took hours for staff to clean up blood on the floor, and kids played in it while it was still there. I had repeated problems during my stay. The cleaners handled and threw away important, dangerous medication, and reception said they weren’t allowed to replace it. I had to change rooms twice before finding one with working air conditioning. In the third room, spoons had grime on them and there was a bit of hair in the kettle. I also had to ask staff ten times about the same air-con problem and several times to get dirty cutlery replaced. Their booking and issue-tracking systems seem poor, so fixes get missed and communication suffers. Staff thought they could combine my bookings, but the room cards expired and locked me out. Sometimes the cards stopped working partway through a booking, too. The staff were helpful and flexible about my booking dates, even though I’d booked through a third-party site, which I really appreciated. They tried to give good service, but seemed held back by poor training, company rules or bad systems.

We held a three-day work event for 110 people here, and it was better than we’d expected. The staff were friendly and wonderful, going out of their way to make us comfortable. The rooms were great, the meals incredible and the meeting facilities top-notch. I recommend the hotel for work trips or leisure.
