The receptionist was a nice guy, and I was able to check in early. Late checkout was available for a fair price, too. The rooms were clean and warm, and the shower was nice. My only issue was the poor sound insulation from outside. There was some kind of party nearby, and the noise was pretty bothersome.

The staff and the other people staying there are friendly and helpful, and daily room service kept my room clean and organized. I’ve been staying at Hotel Royal for business and found it a nice place to stay. If you’re visiting for a vacation, there are plenty of plans and activity schedules to look through, which gave me good ideas for outings beyond Amsterdam. I’d recommend it. The hotel was very bad. I left a pair of headphones in the room, and they said they would check, but I never heard back from them.

There’s a pub nearby for the evening, and the room gives you your own space to relax. It’s a cosy, pleasant place to stay, only a three-minute walk from the bus stop. Haarlem is about 20 minutes away by bus, while bus 382 in the other direction takes you to the sea. If you want a convenient base in IJmuiden, this is a great spot. 10/10

The family running the hotel and the rest of the staff were really nice. Breakfast was good, the beds were comfortable, and we slept so well. There was free coffee all the time, too. Even with a club downstairs, our nights were very quiet and the mornings were even better. The bathroom was clean and the shower was nice.
