It’s a small place on a side street, with a friendly host and a clean room. There’s a kettle with some tea and coffee, and the bathroom next door was nice and clean too. Finding somewhere nearby to park a bike safely wasn’t easy.
We stayed there in May and I felt very comfortable. The rooms were clean, and the landlord was very friendly. The accommodation is close to the beach and town. The landlord also owns a restaurant, and the food there is very good. We’ll definitely come back.
For the location and price, the accommodation was okay. It’s on a side street but very central for the town and beach. There’s no parking at the accommodation, and parking was a complete nightmare, especially in really good weather. The parking garage cost €10 a day but was full, while the other options in Katwijk were overpriced. Parking was €3 an hour, including overnight, and we paid over €60 for just over 20 hours.
It looked much nicer in the photos. The place was damp and very dirty, and a lot of things were old or broken. The equipment was filthy, and there was no way to turn up the TV volume. Not getting the promised 50% discount on the food was a real disappointment.
The room was clean and tidy, and close to the beach. Breakfast wasn’t included.
