The owners kindly let us leave our backpacks, and later our bikes, which made our Pieter pad walk possible. We had good service throughout, and it was lovely to see the owners enjoying their own creation with coffee in the lounge. The fresh, varied breakfast was great too. We came back last weekend to start the second half of our walking pilgrimage, after celebrating the end of the first half of the Pieter pad here last summer. This time we had a superb gourmet supper and a lovely night in the hotel. The food was delicious, but the ambiance and tasteful interior decorating stood out most. There are beautiful artistic touches everywhere. Clean, beautiful, good and friendly service. We’d love to return.

The garden was wonderful, and all the staff gave us lovely service. At dinner, two very talented and friendly ladies looked after us, and the food was very good. The restaurant quality is above the average standard of the bedrooms, but we loved the service.

The restaurant still has some challenges, though I’m really interested to see what level it reaches by next year. The new owners seem eager to turn around the burden of the past. I’ll give them the benefit of the doubt on the hotel.

Friendly service and great beer. Try the Belgian import made by monks. The spices give it subtle notes, definitely worth trying.
