The room was comfortable, with a good bathroom and a lovely view across Leiden. The staff were kind, and the location is hard to beat, right by Leiden railway station. I only booked at the last minute because my flight was cancelled. The decor felt badly dated compared with other Ibis hotels I’ve stayed in, and breakfast was a letdown after Motel One in Rotterdam.

We chose Ibis Leiden because we’d had a good experience there before. The desk staff were very helpful, and we appreciated the free city map. Our room was kept spotless and had enough space for a short conference visit, though I wouldn’t want to stay in it for a longer tourist trip. The location worked well, opposite the railway station and within a 15-minute walk of the city centre and university.

The staff were lovely, and breakfast had everything we needed. The IBIS is right across from the train station, which made it a great base for day trips to Amsterdam, The Hague and elsewhere.

I liked the view over the train station, and the location is handy for the city centre, university science campus and station. The room was simple and clean, fine for sleeping, though not so comfortable for spending time relaxing or working there. Breakfast was okay, but after a few nights it could get repetitive since only the pastries changed and the hot options stayed the same.
