The rooms are old and visibly worn, and there was mold in the bathroom. This is nowhere near a four-star standard, and the staff’s competence was shockingly poor. There’s no reception or direct customer service. Even basic problems mean contacting several different people by phone, email, and chat, which led to hours wasted, inconsistent and often misleading information, and one of the worst customer service experiences I’ve had. The entrance is easily accessible from the street, and without a reception, the hotel didn’t feel safe as a solo traveler. If you enjoy arguing with hotel staff on vacation, this place might suit you. If you want a stress-free, smooth, professional experience, it doesn’t.

I was happy with my stay. I’d read the reviews after booking and worried the room might be dirty, but it was cozy and clean on the third floor, and I couldn’t agree with the bad reviews. A protective screen on the bathroom window would make it feel a little more comfortable. The host was really friendly, and reception was easy to find, despite what some other reviews said. We got a regular key card for both the room and hotel door, so everything was fine. It’s a small hotel with no elevator, though that shouldn’t be a problem for most people. It’s dog friendly too, which is great.

The room felt lived in, which I personally loved. John at breakfast was a warm, welcome presence and added to the property’s charm. We had a great stay, loved the location, and would definitely come back.

We left because the room was so filthy we didn’t feel safe staying there. Dirt was everywhere, along with lots of dead insects and insect droppings, black stuff that was probably mold, and a lot of dust. Luckily, we found a room in another hotel nearby. I don’t usually write bad reviews, but I want to warn other travelers since the hotel never responded to our email. There’s no front desk or staff to talk to at the hotel, and we got no reply and no refund. Stay away!
