The surroundings are lovely, but the accommodation itself has seen better days. The garden has a sunken mini-golf course, piles of stones and a weed-filled sunken seating area. Inside, the beds and mattresses were poor, the bedding old, and some beds hadn't been made. There were visible stains and a bad smell, although staff said the bedding had been washed. One sink leaked into a bucket, the shower in room 3 never got properly hot while the others did, and a socket in room 3 was loose. The curtains had holes, and the bedroom lights were harsh white, leaving the house with no atmosphere. It may once have been a five-star place, but it no longer deserves that. I wouldn't recommend it.

This doesn't feel like a good group accommodation. It's a huge, atmosphere-free house somewhere in Overijssel, and so much is worn out: the curtains, beds, lamps and bathroom fixtures all need maintenance and care. The garden looks as if you might have been able to play mini-golf there 40 years ago. If that sort of thing appeals to you, by all means go.

At least the place was clean, but I wouldn't recommend it for a winter stay. The room was freezing whenever I came back, and I couldn't get it warm. The furnishings were pretty basic, too.
