Getting around was easy: the bus stop for direct trips to the port is a minute away. The beach takes 10-15 minutes on foot, the city center about 10 minutes, and the bus to the other side of the island is 10-15 minutes away. We really enjoyed staying here. Our room was spacious, bright, spotlessly clean, and had lots of storage, including hangers. The bed and even the pillows were comfortable, and the sofa was a nice place to relax. The bathroom was roomy and stocked with lots of towels and toiletries. Breakfast was amazing, with plenty of sweet and savory choices for different diets, plus a variety of hot and cold drinks.

A lovely hotel, made even better by the staff. Mrs Parwane, Flavia and Lucia were warm, kind, and attentive, and always willing to go the extra mile to help guests.

I’ve been visiting Ameland for about 18 years and have always stayed at this hotel. It’s just great: the staff are nice, everything is consistently clean and pleasant, and the location is perfect, beside a large public park and close to both the beach and Nes city center. The breakfast is good for a hotel, with fresh-tasting food and plenty of choice. The staff are kind and easygoing. It’s also very child friendly, with several playgrounds in the park and a small one at the hotel.

The receptionist was extremely rude and arrogant, had no manners, and told us to leave and find somewhere else to stay. She said to our faces that the hotel was fully booked, even though rooms were still available on Booking.

The restaurant surprised me, since I’d seen some mixed reviews. Our meals were delicious, the atmosphere was pleasant, and the service was quick.
