We sat on a bench on the terrace while it was under construction, and a waiter came over with a friendly greeting to ask if we'd like a drink. The service was really good and welcoming. We'll definitely be back!

We had the Amelander deer burger as our main, and it was tasty and filling. The brownie with chocolate mousse was delicious too, and the bread starter was good. We ate here yesterday and had a really pleasant time in the cozy, comfortable aviary. We'll definitely return.

This review is only about the restaurant. The service was super nice and thoughtful, and the schnitzel was solid. The chickpea veggie burger was fresh but dry, the chickpeas weren't cooked through, and the potatoes on the side tasted a bit like old grease. For the price, the food could use a little more care.

This is about the cafe. If you want overpriced, weak coffee and what felt like rip-off service, this terrace is the place. My €6 flat white was basically hot milk, and came with a tasteless dried-out biscuit that reminded me of a dog treat. We'd ordered two coffees, but they wouldn't give our small daughter a glass of water, so we had to buy a tiny bottle for €3. This place left a stain on what was otherwise a lovely vacation. I also noticed that all the good reviews I could see were at least five years old.
