The room in the new block felt like a small apartment, with a balcony and plenty of seating. It was excellent value, and had a huge bathroom, separate toilet, fridge, and tea making facilities. The two downsides were the cramped bar, squeezed into a tiny room with the Brasserie guests, who have to compete with bar guests for seats, and a receptionist who could have been friendlier and more helpful. There’s no real bar area despite the hotel’s size and huge lobby.

Mweh, not one of the best vd Valk stays I’ve had, and I’ve seen a lot, though not all of them. There was a leak from the bathroom to the bedside, and leftover salad in the minibar. A fire door was being propped open with a trashcan because its lock mechanism was broken. If you like Christmas decorations, there were plenty, but the dinner area was dusty. Not the best.

Our first holiday with my baby was so exciting, but the room wasn’t clean and the carpet smelled. I noticed while lying there playing with my son. There were also loads of mosquitoes. We could hear them flying around while we slept, and the worst part was seeing one bite my son’s face as he slept. I killed that vampire mosquito, but when we got home his face was covered in bites. Terrible!

The rooms were clean, and the employees were nice and kind. You should definitely stop by the restaurant, the dishes were really tasty!

The location is right by the main road and car park, so the view from the window isn’t lovely. Some bushes could hide the parking area and the road. The hotel has new rooms on the casino side, while the old building is under construction. I think they’ll finish in a few months, and it could be an amazing place. The breakfast is delicious, too, so a plus star for that!
