Fletcher Hotel Nieuwvliet Bad

Right beside the beach, and a very relaxing place to stay. The rooms were clean, the service friendly, and breakfast was good.

The fish is incredible, and the staff are lovely. The location is great too. Just don’t order the ribs unless you’re REALLY REALLY hungry 🤣

The staff were pleasant and tried to help, but the state of the place made it hard to recommend. There were safety issues around the property: broken terrace tiles could trip you, and holes in the paths were easy to overlook and could cause an injury. Inside, the hotel felt dated and in need of renovation. The furniture was old, the carpet badly worn, and our room was messy when we checked in. Dust and hair covered the floor, while the bathroom looked as if it hadn’t been cleaned properly for a long time.

Free parking next to the building was handy, and the reception staff were nice. The area around Nieuwvliet is beautiful and peaceful. I spent many summers there as a child and would still recommend the place itself as an adult. The hotel, though, was a disappointment even with no expectations after reading reviews. I booked thinking it was just one night and close to our friends. The rooms, bathrooms, and shared spaces are all old and run down. Our room was dirty, furnished cheaply, and much of the furniture was broken. There was only a small, dim wall lamp, no ceiling light, so with the curtains closed or at night it was almost impossible to see. The bathroom seemed fairly clean but smelled of chlorine and old urine, and its walls had badly patched spots with mismatched tiles. Breakfast was dry, tasteless, and nearly inedible. The room price isn’t justified. Please stay somewhere else.
