We were there with another couple, and our friends ended up in a room with no toilet door. That’s not acceptable in a hotel, and even after they told the receptionist, there was no replacement room or compensation. Our own room had no such issue, but the mattresses were uncomfortable, and the stay didn’t meet our expectations.

The friends we travelled with had a toilet with no door in their room. They raised it with the receptionist but weren’t offered another room or compensation. We found the staff rude and difficult to communicate with. Our room was a little better, though the mattresses were uncomfortable and the overall standard was well below what we expected.

The two staff members at check-in made the stay difficult from the start. I was criticized several times for not replying to an email written in a foreign language I couldn't understand, and told to translate it myself. One staff member walked away mid-conversation and didn't return after I said his tone was aggressive. I could also hear staff loudly complaining about me from the staff room. There was no apology or attempt to have a friendly conversation, just a condescending lecture about Dutch customs and babies dying in beds when sleeping with blankets and pillows, which had nothing to do with our situation. Dinner times differed from the times listed online, and they made no effort to serve it earlier. That was a major inconvenience while travelling with kids. There may also be extra charges that aren't mentioned anywhere, for example for a baby bed. Payment was required at check-in instead of the usual checkout. At night, the bathroom lights come on automatically when the door opens, waking everyone when someone uses the toilet. The sink is in the bedroom, so washing hands wakes people too. The pipes in the bedroom stay loud even with the heaters off. Bring earplugs. Not recommended.
