The salmon sandwich was tasty, and the terrace looks out beautifully over the river. The service was friendly and they spoke English. I felt like I was in the Randstad ;-)

The reception staff were friendly and took a little off the price, but I wouldn't recommend the place. There are plenty of nicer spots in Ommen. We came for lunch and found the choice at De Zon below expectations. The service was in English, which wasn't really a problem, but they weren't very friendly and one person had a very dirty shirt. It took a long time, and what arrived was disappointing: the brie sandwich wasn't fresh, so we didn't eat it, and the €18 hamburger was just a bun with a poorly cooked burger and nothing alongside it. Even a small portion of fries would've been nice.

The view is beautiful, the service is excellent, and the coffee and pastries were delicious. Still, €17.50 for two people felt like a lot. We've never paid so much for coffee and pastries.
