I wouldn’t stay here alone again. Staff tried to get into my room twice while I was right by the door asking what was happening, and both times I was going in or out of the shower. The manager’s response when I raised the privacy issue was rude and dismissive, so if you care about being treated respectfully, stay elsewhere. The first attempt came about 40 minutes after I arrived. I answered the housekeeping knock, but they still tried the master key. Luckily, the door was latched. The second time, I was told there was an alarm going off in my room, though I absolutely hadn’t set one off. I heard no alarm. I could only see a strange man banging and calling “receptie, receptie.” I stood there in a towel, anxious after what had already happened and confused about why he needed to come in. He tried to push past me, and only after I slammed the door shut did he finally explain. He later said he couldn’t hear me, though I could hear him. If he’d explained straight away, there wouldn’t have been a problem. I would have let the incidents go, but I was worried staff hadn’t been trained not to barge into rooms, which is illegal. I told my partner, who was very concerned and called the manager just to inform him and ask for reassurance it wouldn’t happen again. Instead, the manager blamed me for supposedly triggering the alarm, which I didn’t, and told me to stay somewhere else if I didn’t like it. Don’t worry, pal, I will.

I left my AirPods behind in the room by accident and contacted the hotel as soon as I noticed. Find My still showed them there, but the hotel said nothing had been found. They didn’t make any real effort to look into it or help resolve the situation. Of course, it was my responsibility to collect my things when I checked out. Still, the staff’s lack of care, transparency, and follow-through was very disappointing. I’d expect a 5-star hotel to deal with this kind of issue honestly and professionally, with genuine attention to its guests. Sadly, that wasn’t my experience.

The lunch had plenty of salmon and other ingredients, and it was clear the chefs hadn’t skimped. I also had a great coffee and pastry in the restaurant. The staff there were welcoming, and the service, spa, and restaurant all get 5 stars from me. SPAVARIN was quiet and uncrowded, which gave it a special feel. I tried the HeadSPA, and the treatment was so peaceful and relieving. The woman doing it put everything into her work. It’s a Japanese-style SPA option on the menu, and I’d definitely recommend giving it a try. I’ll be back for it. The massage was lovely too, relaxing, and I felt great afterward. I’m really happy with last weekend. The place was charming, the quality was high, and I had a wonderful time.
