Novotel Rotterdam Brainpark

The location is good and close to everything, but this was the last time I’ll stay here. We came from Germany for a wedding and arrived at 2:40 PM for the 3:00 PM check-in. They said the room wasn’t ready, so we waited until after 3:00 PM. When we checked again, it still wasn’t ready, and the receptionist had “no idea” when it would be. Meanwhile, guests who arrived after us were checking in before 3:00 PM, and the reception staff were chatting and having coffee while we waited. We had the same delay when we stayed here two years ago. We’re paying customers, and I doubt they’d be happy if we checked out late. After around 20-25 minutes, they gave us a different room on the 5th floor. It smelled terrible, like a sewer or toilet drain. I don’t know what’s going on with this hotel lately, but that’s unacceptable.

The rooms are nice and big, great for families, and breakfast was very good for a fair price. We were here 2-3 years ago, before the renovations, and it was already beautiful. Now it’s even better. We’ll definitely stay again when we travel to Rotherham.

We had a good weekend in Rotterdam, and my husband had booked this hotel for us. The staff were kind, especially at reception. The location worked well whether you have a car or use public transport. Breakfast felt a bit pricey to me, but there’s plenty to choose from, sweet or savoury.

Dinner was great, and the staff were so friendly and kind. My boyfriend and I stayed one night, and our room was clean and newly renovated. We brought a car, but the hotel is a little outside the city centre. The metro is around the corner, though. A good experience.
