Recharge Hostel

We booked five nights in an apartment for three, but left after just one night for our own safety and paid for somewhere else. The main building door downstairs was always left wide open, people tried to break into our apartment at night, and our window was broken and wouldn't close. Booking.com was no help and refused a refund. Check-in was supposed to be at 2 PM, yet we waited two hours and were then given a much smaller room than the one we had booked. It was disgustingly dirty: the toilet had dark, yellow, and white stains, and the sheets were stained and full of holes. The whole experience was a disaster. If you value your safety, time, and money, don't book here.

The rooms are okay, though some beds make a noise when you move around or get out, which can get annoying. The man at reception was really nice, flexible, and helpful. The location is very good if you want to enjoy the city's nightlife.

Street noise comes straight through the broken window in the deluxe studio with a double bed, and the street is full of bars. You'll have to decide whether that works for you.

The steep stairs felt unsafe, and the six-bed dorm was filthy, stuffy, and smelled terrible. The sheets didn't look clean, and the whole place seemed neglected. The hostel looked nothing like the misleading photos on the website. We felt so uncomfortable that we left almost immediately. We spent the night at a restaurant that closes at 6 a.m., then went straight home. We didn't even get to spend the day in Rotterdam as planned. The experience completely ruined it for us.
