Rotterdam Marriott Hotel

The staff were great, and we had a really enjoyable stay. Our room was spacious, modern, clean, and quiet. If you’re sensitive to noise, consider asking for one facing away from the main road, since the tram can be heard. The hotel is right across from Rotterdam’s central station, with restaurants and shops nearby, plus bike rental and sharing options. There are also convenience shops and a bakery a short walk away in the station. Breakfast starts early and has a big selection, with menu orders as well as the buffet. We were glad we got the breakfast package. Room service was available too, with a good range of pasta, burgers, and salads.

Rooms facing the station square have magnificent views, and the lounge on the 12th floor has a generous spread of complimentary snacks and drinks. The hotel sits opposite the central station in the heart of the city, with valet service and an on-site parking garage. Guests can also use bicycles to explore the city the Dutch way. The staff were exceptionally friendly and welcoming. Rooms are spacious, though the bathroom could use an upgrade, and its HVAC system is somewhat noisy.

The staff were friendly and quick to make the stay pleasant, and I’d return and recommend the hotel to family and friends. We booked for New Year’s Eve and asked to change from a central station view to a city view. The fireworks were spectacular, exactly what we came for. We would’ve liked to watch them from the M lounge too, but nobody clearly explained it to us. There were a couple of billing surprises. We thought breakfast was included, but it wasn’t, and instead of clarifying this, they charged it to the room. They also charged 8 euros for internet, which I think should be standard at a 5 star hotel. The bathrooms are dark and dated, so ladies, bring extra light if you want to do your make-up.

Right next to Rotterdam Central Station, the Marriott Rotterdam is a practical choice for a short visit when getting around easily matters. The rooms are comfortable and generally nice, though some areas are beginning to look a little worn.
