Thon Hotel Rotterdam

Rotterdam was easy to get around from here, and after a day out it was nice to return to somewhere calm, clean, and dependable. We stayed a full week at Thon Hotels and felt comfortable from the start. The shared spaces were pleasant, everything worked, and the amenities were useful in practice. Breakfast was a highlight: plenty of choice, from fruit, yogurt, breads and pastries to hot food and good coffee. It was laid out thoughtfully and stayed well stocked, even when mornings were busy. The place felt both modern and cozy, and the staff seemed to run things well. We had no complaints and would happily stay again or recommend it to people visiting Rotterdam.

The room felt suitable for one person, though it was a bit limited beyond that. The food was good, including breakfast. Thon is in a lovely part of Rotterdam, about a 10-minute walk from the city center, with attractive buildings and bridges to see along the way.

The riverside area is quite peaceful, and the hotel has a lovely view of Erasmus Bridge. It's also well placed near the city center. Thon Hotel Rotterdam was a fine place to stay and gave me a pleasant experience in Rotterdam.

I left without having dinner because the waiter's response was so frustrating. I told him I was staying at the hotel and asked for the meal to be charged to my room. He didn't ask which room I was in. Instead, he went through the entire guest list to check whether I was allowed to eat there, which was absurd to watch. The restaurant is open to the public, and I had my room key in my hand. If he wasn't sure, reception was only three meters away. The staff attitude was appalling.
