Radisson Blu Hotel Amsterdam Airport Schiphol

From the moment we arrived, we felt welcome at Radisson Blu Amsterdam Airport. The team had set up the room for our anniversary with decorations, sweet treats, and a handwritten card. It was a warm, thoughtful surprise that made the day more memorable. Thanks especially to Zoi Griva and everyone for their kindness, hospitality, and attention to detail. We really appreciated it and would gladly come back. Highly recommended!

Jelle at reception and a few other staff members were kind and tried to help. The location is convenient by the airport, and the shuttle was efficient, with friendly staff. Those positives didn’t make up for the overall stay at Radisson Blu Hotel, Amsterdam Airport Schiphol. The room was filthy, with dust everywhere and surfaces that clearly hadn’t been cleaned. Housekeeping was unreliable: towels weren’t replaced, and the room wasn’t properly serviced. It felt as if cleanliness wasn’t a priority. The manager, a tall, slim woman whose name I didn’t catch, was rude, dismissive, and unprofessional. She didn’t address our concerns and came across as arrogant and unwilling to help. Breakfast itself was decent, but service was inconsistent. We simply asked for hot milk, and one waitress rudely said it wasn’t possible. A moment later another staff member brought it without a problem. That suggested poor training and a lack of accountability. The poor cleanliness, weak housekeeping, and management’s attitude overshadowed everything else. This hotel falls far short of the standard it claims to represent. I’d strongly advise avoiding it until serious improvements are made.

Breakfast was meant to start at 6:30am, but there was a queue and it didn’t open until 7am. I had to rush to catch my flight. A lot of the advertised food was missing: no hot food, eggs, pastries, or cereal. It felt like a waste of money. The bed was uncomfortable, and the sheets were too light for a cold night. The staff were nice, but I don’t recommend this hotel.

The hotel has nice, larger rooms, and the staff were friendly. My main issues were the location and shuttle. Although it looks close to the airport on a map, road access makes the trip take a while. There isn’t really any food or much else nearby beyond the hotel, apart from some corporate businesses next door. To reach the city centre, you have to pay for the shuttle back to the airport and take the train, or get an Uber, which is more reasonable than a taxi. The shuttle is free from the airport to the hotel, but the return trip costs €6.50 per person. On arrival, the driver didn’t wait while we approached. A few guests she’d dropped off were just getting off, but she closed the doors and left while we were trying to board. The next shuttle was about 30 minutes away. When she came back, she was rude to us and other guests and spent the whole ride talking on her phone. Maybe she was just having a bad day, but it was a poor start. We wouldn’t stay here again next time we’re in town or need to be near the airport.
