The breakfast was amazing. It's an unusual, charming building dating from the beginning of the last century, and the rooms are well kept.

The welcome was warm, and the atmosphere was very friendly. Everything we needed was provided, including cold drinks in the refrigerator, and the room was beautifully decorated. There was a huge shower area, plus secure parking in a lot across the street. You can have a delicious breakfast in your room, too. The charming old castle is just outside the city center, about a five-minute walk from the center. I'd recommend staying here if you're visiting Sittard.

Casa Mia has been owned by Rob and Marja since 2017. It's a municipal monument with a long history, and today the former coach house serves as a residence with a bed and breakfast. The building is on Parklaan, once called Den Diek, in the heart of Sittard's center. This street was also home to the birthplace of Toon Hermans, the city's most famous resident. The smallest castle in the Netherlands was built in 1903 in the garden of wine merchant Joseph Nicolas Rutten, as a gift for his second wife, Anna Henriette Janssen. Rutten's business was just around the corner in the larger building called De Voorstad. After he died in 1910, his widow married French Count Géraud Anne Maria Louis Jules De Rocheouart de la Rochejaquelin, and the castle then became home to a noble family. From 1927 onward, Prince Hendrik, Queen Wilhelmina's husband, regularly stayed with the Countess.

Everything in the room was provided, and the beds were wonderful to sleep in. Breakfast in the morning was great, too. A really good place to stay after walking the Pieterpad.

Parking was arranged right across the street, and you're right in the middle of Sittard. The bed was comfortable, the shower was good, and the hosts were lovely. We had all the amenities we could want, plus a delicious breakfast. Super super super!
