Van der Valk Sneek

The rooms are huge, and the shared spaces feel spacious, modern, fresh, and new. The comfort and quality really impressed me. Breakfast and dinner at the restaurant were both first class. I've stayed at plenty of hotels across the Netherlands, and this one could easily compete with, or even beat, some five-star places despite being rated four stars. There were a couple of small snags. Sometimes there was only one person at reception, so you might have to wait when it gets busy. The self check-out monitor didn't work for me either. Its instructions didn't quite match the machine, and my key card wouldn't scan. Those are minor details next to the stay as a whole. A rock-solid five-star experience. Highly recommended!

The calm, open atmosphere and convenient location stood out to me. It's handy if you're driving through or exploring the area. I visited Van der Valk Hotel in Sneek yesterday for lunch, and it was a nice experience overall. The modern restaurant gets plenty of natural light and has a comfortable layout, good for a casual meal whether you're working or just passing through. My light lunch arrived fresh, well prepared, and nicely presented. The menu has a good range, from sandwiches and salads to hot dishes, and the portion was just right. Everything looked clean and inviting. There was a bit of confusion with staff that caused a short delay and an awkward moment, but they sorted it out quickly and politely. The service was friendly, and the team did their best to keep things moving. I'd come back and would like to try dinner too.

The breakfast buffet was tasty, and the location was good. It's a nice modern hotel with large rooms and an okay price.

A lovely quiet spot just off the main highway, with beautiful rooms in neutral colors. There's a small balcony that opens onto a shared platform running along the rooms on that side of the building, so remember to lock the balcony door. The bed was very comfortable, and the staff were amazing. I've been impressed by all the Valk hotels we've stayed at so far.
