ROOTS Tiny House

I slept incredibly well all four nights at the end of August 2024, and had no trouble using the induction cooktop. I could keep supermarket items in the fridge, and the shower was roomy enough that I didn't feel packed into a sardine tin. Bring your own shower soap and shampoo, since neither is provided, though they do supply hand soap and dish soap. I chose the Hostel Roots Tiny House because I wanted a private place of my own for the stay, and it was absolutely fabulous. The amenities were top-notch and the accommodation spectacular. There are two tiny houses. After you enter and turn the corner, you find the room, with a little balcony overlooking the street, sidewalk, and landscaping. It brings in light and has a small sofa to sit on while looking over the railing. Inside there's almost a full kitchen: sink, induction cooktop, fridge/freezer, plus plates, utensils, pots, pans, and more. There’s also your own bathroom and shower. Everything worked fine, and there were plenty of outlets, lights, and USB charging ports. No air conditioning, but that wasn't a problem even in August. There’s a fan you can plug in, and complimentary coffee from a Nespresso machine with pods, along with assorted tea. Check-in is at their main location on Stationsstraat. They give you a binder with information about your stay, your key, and plenty of coupons for local businesses. The main location has a common area with lots of board games, friendly staff, a pool table, and a basement bar. They’re also happy to hold your luggage for a while if needed.
