Bilderberg Kasteel Vaalsbroek

The surroundings are nice, and the sauna and swimming pool were good. We had a good time here. Still, the price is high, and they charge 5€ per day for a bad mantel. The fitness hall is also very poorly equipped.

The location and spa are nice, but we didn’t have a great experience overall. For a romantic week, I wouldn’t recommend it. The rooms only have single beds unless you book the bridal suite. Given what we paid, we expected a bit more.

The pond, with its ducks, geese, and swan, was so relaxing. The grounds are beautiful, the food was amazing, and the service was top notch. The rooms are unbelievable for the price. This place is a hidden gem!

The restaurant and Bistro were badly understaffed, and the service was seriously poor. We waited two hours for our entrees, then got the orders wrong. They didn’t ask about more drinks, and our request for bread never got fulfilled. The restaurant service ruined our evening. We’d go back to the hotel, which is great, but not to its traditionally focused, trying-to-be-swanky restaurant. They just can’t do it well enough. There’s a lot to like about staying here. The setting is beautiful, and the hotel has a lovely scent when you arrive. The unusual decor is attractive and makes it feel special. Our room was spacious and nicely prepared, with a well-equipped bathroom and Rituals products. We had bathrobes for the wellness center, separate coffee and tea machines, and a small patio where we could sit in the sun with our dog. The castle grounds are lovely, too. The hotel is in a beautiful part of the Netherlands, with walking trails and bike routes starting right outside the front door. Sitting on the terrace in the sun with a drink was a perfect way to end the day. The breakfast buffet was well worth it, with plenty of fresh food and special local treats.
