This might do for a business trip if you have no other choice, but I wouldn’t recommend it for holidays, families, or elderly guests. It’s inside an office building, and using the lift was a nightmare. Check-in took painfully long. Our room hadn’t been cleaned properly, with leftovers from the previous guest under the bed, and a dehumidifier was running. The food, breakfast included, was very basic. Late-night entry was a repeated problem: several times we waited outside for over five minutes, hoping someone would come to reception. We tried the room card as advised, but the scanner didn’t recognize it, and there were barely any instructions about what to do, so we were left waiting outside on multiple occasions. The reply acknowledged the issues and apologized, which I appreciate, but cleanliness is a basic expectation, and finding those leftovers was disappointing. Thanks for responding, and I hope this helps improve things for future guests. There are much better hotels nearby for the price.

The pool rules were a huge disappointment. We chose this place because it looked like our child could swim, but children could only use the pool between 8 and 9:30 AM. After that, guests had to be nude. That restriction needs to be clear in the listing, not buried in the hotel details. After traveling for more than 14 hours, our child was excited to swim because we’d told her she could once we arrived. The whole thing was infuriating. The hotel also had a poor vibe and didn’t feel comfortable to stay in. The room was poor quality, with stained sheets, thin walls, dim hallways, and no security to stop the public from going up to the guest floors. What a waste of money and such a disappointing experience.

The reception staff were polite and did their best, even bringing me a small heater when I complained about the cold air. The AC in my room kept blowing cold air and its switch wouldn’t turn off. They said it was controlled centrally and couldn’t fix it. I blocked the vent with a towel, and with the portable heater that worked well enough. I still think guests should be able to turn off the central AC in their rooms. The hotel is on the upper floors of a commercial center beside Leiden Central Station. Our room was spacious, clean, and had a nice view. Breakfast was normal and fresh. One issue was the sliding bathroom and shower door: someone showering was in full view of the person using the bathroom.

On arrival, I had to carry my luggage up to the 12th floor without proper guidance from staff. I got directions only from other frustrated guests. When I finally asked for a glass of water, a staff member responded arrogantly. The fire alarm had gone off late that night and earlier the same day, both times without an emergency. Even after we were allowed back in, staff wouldn’t provide a simple glass of water. Most hotels have water available for guests on arrival, but this one didn’t. The room was in very poor shape. The bedding felt cheap, and there were no proper bedside cabinets. My birthday card fell through a big gap between the bed and cabinet. Looking for it, I spotted lots of other guests’ belongings down there too, all out of reach. I asked the hotel for help but got no response. The showers leaked, the breakfast items were frozen, and the room’s hygiene was shockingly bad. Searching for the card made it obvious just how dirty the room was. When I complained, management showed little interest in addressing the problems or improving the service. This was extremely disappointing. I won’t return and can’t recommend the hotel. I know other guests felt the same frustration.
