Courage Valkenburg Hotel

Right in the middle of town, with very friendly staff. Lovely hotel, and I’d recommend it.

We were the first guests after the hotel opened, and we weren’t disappointed. The location is superb. The bed was really comfortable, the bathroom modern and clean, and the windows kept out sound. Breakfast was simple, but there was plenty.

Check-in was super easy, and the room and bathroom were clean. It’s a great location for visiting all the Christmas caves.

The hotel sits right in the city center, above and alongside all the restaurants and cafes. If that’s what you’re after, the location is perfect. The room was simple and inexpensive, and adequate, though it didn’t feel especially clean. The bathroom looked reasonably modern, but there was a lot of mold on the floor and in the grout by the shower. Breakfast was offered at several restaurants across the street. It wasn’t extensive, but it was adequate. The service was polite and friendly when we arrived. Later, though, we were told rather bluntly at the last minute that our car had to be moved by 1 p.m., even though we had late checkout until 5 p.m. This hadn’t been mentioned beforehand, and they didn’t look into other parking options. We changed our plans and went on to Maastricht (Park & Walk) instead of spending another day in Valkenburg. A basic hotel in a good spot, but the mold and poor communication were disappointing.
