Fletcher Boutique Hotel De Mallejan

The room was a letdown compared with what the booking platform described. I realize the mismatch may have been partly the platform's fault, but the hotel staff didn't seem willing to understand the problem or help sort it out. The room also looked poorly maintained, as if the renovation had been rushed or left unfinished, with missing moldings and little attention to detail. My room faced the elevator, and loud noises woke me early in the morning. I'd booked a lovely room with a double bed, but what I got felt like a student room: two singles pushed together without a proper mattress topper. I can't recommend the hotel after such a disappointing experience with both the facilities and the customer service.

The location was a real highlight, right in the woods, so you step straight outside into nature. We stayed for two nights, and the service was great. When I needed to leave early for a work appointment on the first morning, the staff made me a special breakfast to take away at 7:30 AM. They followed all the corona regulations, and the rooms were old but charming. I also loved the Fletcher burger so much that I ate it two nights running. I'd definitely recommend staying here.

The room was simple and old, though clean, and didn't feel like the four star standard I expect. I especially disliked the bed, which was really just two singles pushed together. The setting is lovely, with woods across the road and the wild Veluwe landscape beyond.

The beautiful grounds and nice staff were highlights, and there's a quaint town nearby. The room I stayed in seemed small for four beds, and I'm not sure about the rooms in general. There was no fridge. Amsterdam is about an hour to an hour and a half away.
