The renter was flexible and communicated well. The house itself felt very bare bones, though, and it wasn’t for me. It might suit purists who want an unchanged Dutch home from the 1950s or 60s. One safety concern in the bedrooms: the curtains let light through. Also, our dog fell down the stairs more than once. They’re too steep for a large dog.

We had a fantastic toastie here, and the other food was great too.

The location is lovely, and it’s an enjoyable place to spend time, but the property really needs updating. The kitchen especially feels past its best. Replacing those heavily stained coffee mugs would be a good start.

The cottage is cozy, spacious enough, and good value for the money. Its central spot is handy for the boat and nearby amenities. The shower head leaked, though, and the stairs up are dangerously steep.

We had a lovely stay and would recommend the cottage. It’s in a great spot, though the place is a bit noisy and the decor may be dated. Neither bothered us.
