I was invited to an event at "Hoeve Kromwijk," which brought me there for an overnight stay. The catering was well organized. As far as I could tell, there are nine guest rooms upstairs, and stairs are the only way to reach them. My room had air conditioning, an empty refrigerator, coffee and tea facilities, plenty of outlets and lighting, a TV, a desk and chair, several wardrobes, and a very comfortable double bed at senior height. The adjoining bathroom had a shower, toilet, and vanity. There was some noise late into the night from staff cleaning. Since the event catering was well organized, I expect breakfast is too. Asked whether I'd eat there myself, my answer is simply no: the kitchen also prepares Halal food to order. I believe Halal and non-Halal food don't mix in a kitchen. Halal isn't my thing.

We'd just finished shopping at Intratuin nearby and stopped in on a whim for a quick, simple lunch. The food was decent, the women and men serving us were lovely, and we ended up having a really nice experience. I was amazed at how cheap the lunch menu was for what we got. I'll definitely come back for dinner.

The dishes were a feast for the senses, with fresh ingredients and flavor combinations that worked perfectly. The service was very friendly and professional, and the cozy interior gave the place a great atmosphere. This restaurant is a true gem. I'll definitely be back many more times, and highly recommend it.

The croque madame was good, and I was impressed by the lovely salad and garnish on the side. My coffee came with a small madeleine; they make those themselves, and it was really good. It was a little moister than I'm used to, which I liked. The apple pie, which comes from a bakery, was okay but not my favorite. After the madeleines, I wished they made their own pie too. It would also have been better warmer, and the cream wasn't great. Those seem like easy things to improve. There's a large parking lot, but a gate keeps it closed before 10:00. If you plan to park there and go for a walk first, you'll need to drive a bit further to another lot. Someone told me there's a large sign marking the entrance, but I missed it. A few more signs would help, especially one saying the entrance is AT THE BACK.
