We slept well in a comfortable, large bed, and the hotel is in a good spot in the small seaside village of ZOUTELANDE. We spent four nights there over Christmas, but the room felt basic, a bit cold and impersonal. I missed even a small festive touch, like a tree or a light on the table. There was nothing special for our dog, either, not even a bowl. At lower-star hotels we’ve sometimes found a dog bed, two bowls and a little food, which costs little but feels like a nice surprise. The breakfast was brought to us on a tray rather than served self-service: selected pastries, a few slices of ham, two tomatoes and some cakes. That was enough, but as someone allergic to soy and milk protein, I had relatively few choices. That’s standard, though, and not the hotel’s fault. We booked through booking.com and were given a different room from the one shown for what we booked. Ours was on the first floor overlooking the parking lot. The receptionist said all rooms are the same when booking and that you don’t choose based on the photos. That seemed odd to me, since I look at the pictures for the price and room and expect the room shown. If you book here, check through booking.com that you’re really getting the room in the photo.

A beautiful, stunning spot tucked into the dunes, with direct sea access just 150-200 meters away. It’s peaceful and cozy, with very friendly service and a focus on quality over quantity. A lovely place to relax and recharge. It’s gone from my bucket list straight onto my favorites list, 100% recommended!

The only snag was that we couldn’t get into our room when we first arrived. After that, the stay was excellent. The room was comfortable and well equipped, breakfast was first rate, and the women running the hotel were friendly and always smiling. We loved the area, clean and a little rugged. It was a very enjoyable visit to Zeeland, and we’d come again.

The hotel and rooms have a beautiful design, and the location is spot on. We slept very comfortably, enjoyed the luxury amenities, and appreciated the Nespresso machine. Breakfast was fresh, delicious and generous. The toilet had no ventilation, though, and the shower cabin leaked.
