We couldn't stay in the room because the smell was so bad, a mix of smoke, mold, and mustiness. Room service tried to cover it up, but it barely helped, and they couldn't offer another solution, so we had to find somewhere else. We lost 400 euros for four nights. There was visible mold on the bathroom ceiling, and a plank on the balcony broke when we stepped onto it. The fire alarm had also been removed from the ceiling. Save yourself the trouble. If you have allergies or asthma, there's no way to spend a night here, and it feels like a health hazard for anyone.

The room had a long, rug-like carpet that I didn't want to walk on without shoes, and the whole place felt dated and unclean. The bathroom was stuffy, smelly, hot, and seemed poorly cared for. Air conditioning costs an extra €10 per day. I'd also seen comments about a camera on the balcony door facing into the room, and I was glad to spend as little time there as possible. I'm relieved I'll never have to stay there again. Getting the key was a hassle too. You have to walk around the block and collect it from a different hotel, where the man was no friendlier or more informative than the owners had been over the intercom. Check-in felt rude and unprofessional. When I arrived, they told me over the intercom to read my email and said they weren't going to tell me anything. I had booked through last minute.com and hadn't received a separate email with check-in instructions, something the owners didn't seem to understand. They charged a €50 deposit, and even the key was gross and disgusting. I felt unhappy and uncomfortable the whole time. This is the worst hotel I've ever stayed at. I have to believe the positive reviews are fake or from friends of the business, rather than actual guests. Believe the negative reviews too, because the place has a lot to work on.

The room was exactly what we expected, and there were a couple of small supermarkets nearby. It felt a little cold when we arrived, but warmed up gradually after we switched on the heater. The neighbourhood and house were lovely, and the person who gave us the key at Hotel Zwanenburg was nice.

Igor was pleasant and helpful, though the lady there wasn't very friendly. They hadn't put out basics like coffee cups, but the place was clean, reasonably comfortable, and nicely decorated. The shower room was very clean, with a brilliant power shower, and the quiet fridge in the room was useful. The terrace floor dipped quite a bit in the middle and needs fixing. There's a great ice cream parlour across the road, plus a handy little supermarket and Cheese shop on the same road. I'd stay here again.

The beds were really soft and comfortable, and the shower was fully flexible, though there wasn't a bathtub. There was even a small private smoking balcony overlooking the surrounding area. The airport is very close, but getting here from there costs 50€.
