Hotel Fidder - Patrick's Whiskybar

The staff were friendly, and Patrick served drinks both at the bar and on the terrace. He was happy to share what he knows about whiskey. The location is great, about a 15-minute walk from the center. The bed was comfortable, but there’s no air conditioning, and the old building isn’t soundproof. The bathroom has no fixed door. Breakfast was mediocre.

Fidder made us feel at home as soon as we came through the door. The staff were friendly, and the place has a lovely, homey feel.

It’s a nice place to stay, an easy walk from the city center, and parking is simple on the hotel’s street or nearby. When we arrived, no one was at reception, but the bells were going off and a woman called out that she’d be there in a minute. That made us feel noticed. The room was classic and dated, which we knew when we booked. I’m not sure if there’s an elevator, as the stairs are steep. We enjoyed our stay, and the staff were welcoming. Breakfast was good, although they sometimes ran short on pancakes. There was a nice range of tea, while the coffee could have been stronger, maybe espresso, though that’s personal.

The staff were excellent and did their best to make our stay feel perfect, even during the difficult Corona period. We had a clean, spacious room with a small sauna and bubble bath, both of which were nice. Breakfast was generous and tasty. Great hotel and location, highly recommend it!
