The hotel restaurant, Green Garden, was the best of the four restaurants we tried in town. The hotel is beautifully designed and right in the center of Alesund. The owner and all the staff were warm and welcoming. Fantastic place, highly recommended.

This is a lovely old hotel in a central spot, with a good breakfast area, food, and service. There's also a nice outdoor seating area. Just be aware that rooms 3 or 4 can be noisy when a private party is being held there.

The service was awesome. We were leaving very early on departure day, before the breakfast bar opened at 7 am, so the kitchen prepared breakfast bags for us to take along. The breakfast spread itself was really good, and the rooms feel modern and chic in a very tastefully done hotel. We stayed for two nights, and the location was ideal, right in the middle of the art nouveau area and just minutes from the ferry for Gairanger and Askla Viewpoint.

The overall vibe, architecture, decor, room design, location, food, and service at 1904 were all wonderful. The hotel restaurant was easily one of the best we tried in Norway, and even the store inside is worth a visit. I rarely wish I could give a place 6 stars instead of 5, but this one deserves it. Anything I write still feels inadequate. Anyone who loves design and good food should experience it at least once. Highly, highly recommended.

The beautiful Art Nouveau town of Alesund was right outside, ready to explore, and the restaurant staff were incredibly warm and friendly. We only stayed one night, but it was the most memorable stop of our whole trip around Norway. The Art Nouveau style is stunning inside and out, with a quiet, cozy lounge that feels very stylish. Our rooms had lovely high ceilings and were bright and airy. Effective blackout blinds kept out the late sunset light.
