The location is convenient, the hotel is nice, and breakfast was good, but my stay was disappointing. On the last night, a company party in a conference room went on until 2:30 in the morning. The music was loud enough that I could make out the songs on the fifth floor, and I was awake until around 3:00. Some party guests were staying at the hotel too, and they shouted as they walked through the hallways drunk. The beds have separate single mattresses and duvets, and the spring mattresses felt like trampolines. The bathroom was uncomfortably hot from the floor and wall heating. Even the toilet seat, shampoo, and soap were warm, and I couldn't turn the heat down properly. I kept the window open for six days despite the cold weather, but the room still wouldn't cool down. The sauna is in an old bunker in the cellar, which felt very creepy, and there's no cold plunge bath or shower. The swimming pool is at a nearby public facility. You need to ask for a key card to use it, there's a two-hour limit, and only two key cards are available. If you're visiting Alta, I'd choose a different hotel and rent a car. Public transport is a nightmare.

We spent a week at Scandic Alta and had a good stay. Our room was on the 6. Floor, with a lovely view over the mountains. The hotel is right in the town centre, with supermarkets nearby and a shopping centre opposite. Check-in and check-out were quick and easy, the reception staff were friendly and polite, and breakfast was yummy. We also used the sauna in the basement a few times and enjoyed it. If you're renting an EV, there are plenty of chargers around, so no worries. Next time we come to Alta, we'd love to find a kettle in the room. Cheers!

It's a centrally located Scandic Hotel with sparsely decorated rooms. I got an upgrade through my status, which was a plus in Norway, where most hotels seem to try to avoid giving free status upgrades. Overall, it's an average hotel with nice staff.

The reception team were always in a good mood, and we really liked them. We spent a few days at the Scandic in Alta. Our room felt quite new, with plenty of space and a nicely decorated wall. The beds were new, large and comfortable too. Nothing to complain about there, and breakfast was very good.
