Clarion Hotel Tyholmen Arendal

The location is beautiful, and the staff were kind and helpful. Breakfast was fantastic too. My only real gripe was the bed, which was a queen but came with two twin sized comforters. A very small complaint.

A terrible stay. The manager was rude, the staff unprofessional, and the rooms pathetic. Now I understand why so many people have given this place one star. For a four star hotel, the air conditioning didn’t work and the wifi was the worst in the country. When I complained, I was threatened and blamed, while being told the hotel was world class. The staff, especially the manager, acted like they were running a third class hotel. I’m never coming back, and I’d advise everyone else to stay away. I expect they’ll reply with some public apology about being sorry for my experience, just to look caring. They don’t care about anything.

I really enjoyed my time at Clarion. Breakfast was tasty, with a wide selection and good quality products, and even when it was crowded there were no problems finding a free table. The restaurant staff were very friendly.

We spent two weeks here on a business trip and felt right at home. Arendal is a really nice place, and the hotel is well situated near the city center and the lake. You can enjoy lovely views while having breakfast or a drink at the bar. The rooms are fairly new, spacious, well soundproofed and have all the comforts, including good wifi, a minibar and a heater. The pillows were 😍, though the individual beds could be better. Their thin top layer kept shifting, so we had to straighten it often. I can only say nice things about the staff. Thanks!
