Thon Hotel Bristol Bergen

The room was comfortable, clean, and had everything we needed, plus a lovely view over the plaza. The staff were friendly and helpful, breakfast was far better than we expected, and the hotel offers luggage storage that made our schedule more flexible. We could walk easily to the historic sights, restaurants, museums, parks, and shops. The light rail stop and train station were also an easy walk for both of us in our mid-60s. Being right in the city center did mean hearing people outside late at night, but that’s to be expected there. With the amenities and everything else, I still give it five stars. One of the best places we stayed during our 16-day Norway trip.

Breakfast was fantastic, and there’s complimentary still and sparkling water, Nespresso coffee, and tea in the lobby for guests. The reception team were friendly and helpful. Helen was especially welcoming at check-in and gave us all the information we needed. For me, this is the best spot in Bergen, with nearby places of interest easy to reach on foot. Highly recommended.

Breakfast is served on the top floor, with plenty of variety and pleasant staff. During the busy period, though, they couldn’t keep the vitamin shots stocked. Egon restaurant is next door and has direct access from the hotel, with a 10% discount for hotel guests, drinks excluded. The room and public areas felt freshly renovated, with bright colors and nice decor, and everything was clean. There’s an ironing setup, an empty minibar you can use, coffee and tea, and a good Bluetooth speaker in the room. Even small face cloths were provided in the bathroom. The reception has seating areas and drinks you can buy. I’d happily stay here again.

The breakfast buffet was the best I’ve ever had. The hotel was clean, in a great spot, and the staff were friendly and helpful. I loved staying here, highly recommend it.
