Quality Hotel Leangkollen

The food was delicious, and both the room and the well-kept hotel were really nice. No damp or stale smells, and the staff were lovely. I’d come back, but I’d make sure to drive. Getting here on foot and by public transport is quite a challenge if you’re not used to walking or hiking, so that’s why I’m giving four stars 🌟

The free breakfast was out of this world, and dinner was just as awesome. I loved the views and the hiking areas around the hotel, plus there’s so much history here. My room was perfect for me, if a little dated, and extremely clean and well organised. The staff and service were amazing. If you need to stay near Oslo, this has to be the place. I liked it so much I cancelled my Bergen booking and stayed at another quality inn in that city.

The evening meal was bad and expensive, and the rooms were only average. What I loved was the quiet setting and the views, plus an excellent breakfast. The hotel has a quirky log-cabin feel to it.

Our room was a bit smaller than I expected, but it was clean, with a modern shower and a lovely view. The staff were incredibly friendly. Breakfast came with the price and had lots of fresh choices. On our last night we had the all-you-can-eat BBQ buffet, which was very nice. The new electric car chargers were a lifesaver that night. Using chargers in Norway can be really difficult when you’ve hired an electric car from the UK. Parking is reasonably priced, and getting here by public transport isn’t too hard either.
